Meet Sidiq: Turning Global Data Into High-Stakes Decisions
Hi Sidiq! We’re excited to catch up. Can you tell us about your background and what led you to Gratia?
I graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Geophysical Engineering from the Institute of Technology Bandung. My career has always centered on using high-level analytical rigor to solve complex system puzzles, from building digital decision engines to leading corporate strategy. I joined Gratia because it aligns perfectly with my belief that the future of consulting sits at the intersection of human strategy and advanced AI.
How would you describe your role today, in one sentence?
I bridge the gap between complex global data and high-stakes decision-making, turning raw information into strategic clarity that helps leading firms navigate disruption.
What do you love most about your work at Gratia?
The combination of global exposure and radical flexibility. I can drive operating model optimizations for technology-focused businesses across the world while staying based in Yogyakarta. Being trusted to deliver world-class results while staying close to my family is exactly why I’m here.
What does your way of working look like day to day?
We operate with a high degree of remote autonomy. My workflow is very asynchronous, and I gather most of my insights by sending targeted forms or using Slack to interview stakeholders. That allows the team to move fast and document everything without the friction of traditional office meetings.
What qualities help someone thrive at Gratia?
Analytical rigor, team collaboration, and adaptability. Because we work with so much independence, you cannot wait for instructions. You need to be proactive about getting involved and comfortable taking a chaotic set of data and building the master plan to organize it.
What would you say to someone with a similar background who is considering Gratia?
Consulting is just engineering for businesses. Whether you are analyzing commodities or designing a digital masterplan, the logical foundation of an engineering degree is a massive advantage. Gratia is the perfect place to apply that precision on a global scale.
The BA Perspective: AI and Real-World Impact
What’s one real day from this week: what project were you on and what recurring BA tasks did you do?
I’ve been focused on the Master Database Development project, designed to centralize our internal expertise into a strategic asset. My recurring work included interviewing and data collection via Slack and custom forms, processing responses through Grace to transcribe and map themes, using ChatGPT and Gemini Advanced Data Analysis to find correlations tied to internal efficiency, creating case studies for client pitching, and using Claude to refine technical descriptions into clear website copy.
What was your biggest “aha” moment using AI?
It came while analyzing Slack responses about project workflows. I used the prompt: “Act as a Lead BA. Analyze these form responses and Slack threads to identify the Silent Killers, which are recurring frustrations that correlate with decision-making delays.” The AI surfaced that vague meeting agendas were driving a 25% lag in internal speed. That pattern let me propose an automated meeting protocol immediately.
Tell us about a time you ignored AI, and why.
AI once recommended a very aggressive, hard-sell tone for new website copy to drive fast conversions. I ignored it because our clients value rigor, stability, and long-term partnership. I rewrote the copy to emphasize trust and structural transformation instead, and that human nuance outperformed the AI’s basic sales logic.
