How to Prepare for Your Analyst Assessment

Gratia connects senior analysts from LATAM, Eastern Europe, and underserved regions to high-paying client work. You'll be screened, tested, and evaluated across three stages. Then, if qualified, you'll join the analysts network. This guide explains what we evaluate and how to prepare.

It all starts with a three-stage screening

You'll be rigorously evaluated to ensure client-ready execution on day one. Gratia analysts build financial models, write SQL queries, and create dashboards for Series A-C companies. This requires technical proficiency, clear communication, and autonomous work capability across time zones.
1

Core skill assessment

Begin with three multiple-choice tests (30 minutes total) evaluating essential analyst skills: Communication, Business Judgment, and Problem Solving.

This stage ensures you meet baseline requirements and demonstrates your readiness for the next steps in the process.

2

Ghost Project simulation

Complete a practical case study (2-4 hours) to showcase your ability to analyze data and solve real-world problems.

You'll receive a client brief and dataset. Submit deliverables within a one-week window using any tools you prefer—Excel, Python, SQL, Tableau.

3

Final interview

Participate in a live interview to discuss your results, share insights from the Ghost Project, and demonstrate your cultural fit.

This conversation includes detailed feedback on your progress and gives you a chance to ask questions about opportunities with Gratia.

What you need to get started

You must have 5+ years of relevant professional, analytical work experience.

What counts

  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Business Analyst or in a closely related analytical role
  • Hands-on work translating business needs into requirements, documentation, or insights
  • Experience working with data, systems, or technical stakeholders
  • Long-term contract roles equivalent to full-time professional work

What doesn’t count

  • Internships
  • Short-term freelance work
  • Unrelated or non-technical experience
  • Academic projects only

Make your screening a success

Here are proven strategies to pass each stage of the Gratia assessment.

Keep your CV & LinkedIn up to date

Make sure your experience, skills, and recent projects are current and consistent across your CV and LinkedIn. Add specifics (tools, outcomes, scope) so reviewers can quickly understand your level and fit.

Show up like you would with a client

Join from a quiet place with stable Wi‑Fi, turn your camera on, check your background, and dress professionally. Treat the call as a client-facing moment—clarity and presence matter.

Prepare a relevant case to talk through

Come ready to walk through one strong example of work that’s relevant to the role (context → your approach → impact). Focus on decision-making, tradeoffs, and measurable outcomes not just tasks.

Plan for one focused sitting

The skill assessment should be completed in a single sitting. Block uninterrupted time, minimize distractions, and be ready to explain your thinking clearly as you work.
